Power BI is a tool introduced by Microsoft. It's a Business intelligence tool that allows you to put your data into the Reporting layer and get business insights from it. Power BI offers certain connectors to connect with the different sources, and Direct query and Import Mode are two different modes of data connectivity.
Here is the difference which tells you which mode should be picked up. Both the modes are having their own uniqueness and capabilities and their usage depends upon the requirement.
Path to open Direct Query Or Import Mode. Following are the steps:
1. Open the Power BI Desktop.
2. Click On the Home Tab.
3. In the Home tab Get Data Option is available. Click on the Get Data Option.
4. After Selecting a source (like SQL server), it will ask for the Option.
